This is great example of how weak the atheistic argument is. The first thing I must say is that I know allot of Christians that can answer the question, "why believe in God?" Second, what is their standard of "goodness"? I mean how can you be "good" for the sake of "goodness" when the atheistic world view has no set standard of "goodness" and is subjective from person to person at the most.
It makes me think of what Paul wrote in Romans 1:19-22
Romans 1:19-22(ESV)"For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools,"
